Is Homeschooling the Right Option for Your Family: Author Shares Homeschooling Story Using The Waldorf Method

Claudine Wolk Season 2 Episode 52

Meet Catherine Read...She holds a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from UCLA and is a Visiting Scientist at Rutgers University and an Associate at Ithaca College.  She is also a mom of two daughters who decided to home school her girls using the Waldorf Method.

She tells her story and shares her book on the subject "The Genius of Home."  She also shares that you don't have to have a PhD to homeschool.  Both of Catherine's girls are now grown, have degrees, and professionals in their fields.

If your family is considering homeschooling, take a listen to this interview.  Hopefully I asked the right questions, the questions you would ask.  I also ask Catherine about her publishing process.  Her publisher, Steiner Books, sought her out to write this book.  Steiner is a traditional publisher and is very often the case these days, Catherine was expected to market her book.  She is learning the book marketing process as she goes and is in the process of financing an audio book version of "The Genius of Home."

The book, "The Genius of Home" is a resource but it also a story - the story of one family's decision to homeschool and how it worked out for them.

Catherine Read's Website with the video we mention in the podcast is TheGeniusofHome.org. Catherine invites you to email her with any questions: info@thegeniusofhome.org.
