Jenny Judson and Danielle Mahfood accomplished every girlfriends' childhood dream. They wrote a book together and published it! Their first book, The Last Season, is newly released and the perfect holiday escape book. It is a historical fiction, romance novel set in the Victorian Age that follows the relationships of two childhood acquaintances, Crispin and Cassie. Both Cassie and Crispin are very bright and fiercely loyal to their families. A series of events pulls them apart and then back together in the most unexpected way. The Last Season is charming, interesting, and romantic in the most delicious way. It is a rare book where both main character's individuality is maintained but Judson and Mahfood pull it off.
In this podcast episode, Jenny and Danielle answer my questions about the creation of The Last Castle. I had to know how two people can write a book together. We discuss the themes in the book and their philosophy on writing the "sexy parts." We also talk about the plans for their next novel which may feature one of my favorite characters from The Last Season.
